Like a virus, The Walking Dead's popularity has spread like crazy. Now the zombie madness has made the leap to video games and it's actually a great experience, despite the stumbles. Focusing on story and emotion, The Walking Dead grabs you right away. You control Lee Everett, a new character in the series, during the initial outbreak of the zombie apocalypse in Georgia, where the comic and TV series is also set. You soon run into others as you try to survive the waves of undead, but it's not all hunky dory. Live humans, it turns out, can be just as dangerous as the dead ones. You have to make decisions, which will impact the outcome of certain story arcs. Sometimes the voice acting and characters can seem too one-dimensional, and the puzzles don't offer much of a challenge, but the intense Walking Dead moments you expect are all there. The game is episodic, so expect five throughout the year.
