"To be honest after the last one was such a drawn-out process, we didn't want to take that route this time," says Marc Kiely of Wind-Up Radio Sessions. He's talking about Yeti Sounds, the folk-rock EP WURS made in just three days with Blinker the Star's Jordon Zadorozny. "After the last one, we were like 'What are waiting for, why do we need to make 12 really good songs and most people don't really listen to it anyway,'" says Kiely, laughing ruefully. The six-song Yeti has been out in the world for just two months, and Biely—who will marry his Halifax-reared girl in August—and the band are stoked to get it in front of people this summer. "Some songs are folk, some are rock," he says. "When you're touring and people throw you on a really light folk bill, sometimes they're not expecting a full four-piece band that can get really loud."
