Theatre Arts Guild presents: Beauty and the Beast: A Pantomime

When: Dec. 2-18, 8 p.m., Dec. 4-5, 2 p.m., Dec. 11-12, 2 p.m. and Sat., Dec. 18, 2 p.m. 2010

If you believe the holiday season should be about spending time with family and friends, I suggest you stop your hustling and bustling and book some tickets to Beauty and the Beast for you and some loved ones. TAG’s Christmas pantomimes always prove to be an entertaining and affordable pleasure. Kids (and adults) love the interactive quality of a pantomime that requires the audience to boo the villain, cheer the heroes and heroines and sigh at the romantic moments. This production of Beauty and the Beast delivers beautiful costumes, clever sets and some admirable acting while retelling a well-known fairy tale. The story is kept fresh with a few twists like the introduction of Belle’s manly sister Smelle or the fact that the Beast’s staff have all become animals rather than household objects. Fun for the whole family! (KW)

Price: $16/$13
