Everything about this film is a challenge to the audience: The sprawling title, the nearly-200-minute runtime, the opening scene that's five full minutes of blackness will all push you to the edge of your seat—or maybe out of the theatre. Those who wait it out will be rewarded, though. HIFF calls this flick "One of the most exciting Canadian films in recent memory," and it's got the Best Canadian Film nod from the Toronto International Film Festival to back up the claim.
Co-director Simon Lavoie will be on hand for a Q&A session after the credits roll.
