Time of Trouble : A New Canadian Opera by Elizabeth Raum

When: Sat., Oct. 24, 2:30 & 7:30 p.m. 2015

The Sisters of Charity describe a period of struggle in the late 1800s as their "time of trouble"–a struggle for power between the order and their superior, Archbishop Michael Hannan for the right to self determination and the cause of women's education.

Librettist Rex Deverell has been fascinated by this story for years, and decided to bring it to operatic life with composer Elizabeth Raum and the assistance of Maritime Concert Opera.
