Uncut
Those Who Were Hung Hang Here
(Paper Bag)
Formed as a techno-punk duo in 2001, Toronto’s Uncut went off in a whole new direction when the band fell apart a year later. Guitarist Ian Worang picked up the pieces and started again, keeping the dance influence while surrounding himself with some steady players. The result is a standout rock album, which includes the dynamic “Copilot,” the up-tempo yet sullenly sung “Understanding the New Violence,” and the Alkaline Trio-esque “Intentions Change.”
