Université Sainte-Anne - Bachelor of Science

Briar Spinney I’m a CONSULTANT

My final decision on what university to attend was based on student life. Most science programs have very similar requirements so I was looking for a university that had heart and where you weren't just a number—I was looking for opportunities to be able to have a close relationship with my professors.

I started in the pre-medicine program and after talking to many professors, and experiencing animal and human medicine in a humanitarian trip to Guatemala, I chose to change into the pre-veterinary program. You aren't expected to know what you want to do right away, you just have to have an idea and be willing to work hard!

The most challenging part of my program was finding a balance between social, extracurricular and academic studies. It is sometimes said that science students are the shut-ins who study every night and only go out twice a year. That isn't me. Yes the courses can be demanding, but getting involved with the student union, working and volunteering can all be balanced if you manage your time efficiently!

After graduating Sainte-Anne, I plan on pursuing my education in the veterinary medicine field. I aspire to own a veterinary practice that caters from small pets to large farm animals.
