Unstrap some cash for Strap 'Em On

The TransAction Society of Nova Scotia's Pride fundraiser

by

The TransAction Society fundraiser formerly known as Pomo Homos at the CoHo Mofo is back for its second year, but this time under the guise of Strap 'Em On, Strap 'Em Down. "We call it Strap 'Em On, Strap 'Em Down because we're raising funds to help offset the cost for everyday items for trans people in need in Nova Scotia," says Sandra Bornemann, who works for Youth Project but also volunteers on the TransAction Society of Nova Scotia's board. "We purchase binders and gaffs---so that's the strap 'em down portion---and we're looking this year to expand our services to provide breast forms and packers, which will be the strap 'em on part." Artists Tanya Davis (above) and Nolan Natasha will be performing, along with members of Pink Velvet Burlesque---guaranteed to bring audience participation and "all kinds of gender-y fun." Get tickets at Venus Envy and Pretty Things Boutique (cash only), or at the door.
