TAG season closer is a delight

Someone accused me of liking every play I see (not true!), so I'm afraid you won't believe when I say the TAG production of the Canadian-born, Tony Award-winning The Drowsy Chaperone is really, really great. Well, your loss if you don't believe me. The greatness begins with Sherri Bezanson in the role of the musical theatre lover who takes the audience on a journey into one of her favourite shows. She is perky, charming and purely effervescent in the role. The greatness of the production carries on to the spot-on renderings of the gloriously goofy musical numbers, the high-octane energy and the constant flow of perfectly-delivered comedy. Shawn Jolemore's performance as the campy Latin lover Aldolpho stands out as one of the best I've seen this year. Believe me, you don't want to miss this show.

To July 8, The Pond Playhouse, 6 Parkhill Road, $16/$13, 451-1221
