Urban Myths and Legends

When: Sept. 22-Oct. 11 2009

Serving as the after party for the Atlantic Film Festival's Frame X Frame screening at Park Lane, Urban Myths and Legends is Argyle Fine Art's way of celebrating Frame X Frame-type work---animation for adults. "We chose Urban Myths and Legends as a theme because it's interesting and perfect for someone doing illustrations to work with and have fun with," says AFA owner Adriana Afford, adding that she made a call for artists' work under the after party's theme a few months ago. About 20-25 artists answered with pieces to share, including Candace Sepulis' "graphic pulp fiction" skateboard depicting the hitchhiker urban legend. The reception's open to the public, and the show will stay until October 11. –Holly Gordon
