WARNING: THEATRICAL HAZE IN USE

Neptune Theatre held its annual lunch-n-launch this afternoon. After the jump, read about the plays in the 2007-2008 season, with periodic commentary from us.

The Miracle Worker (September 18 - October 14)We saw a fantastic version of this a few years back. This sentence makes us wistful for seasons gone by: Marla MacLean and Jody Stevens at the Atlantic Theatre Festival. Sigh.

The Vertical Hour (October 23 to November 11)For the only time in my life I have seen something on Broadway before it comes to Halifax, and let me tell you -- there's nowhere to go but up. You can read about my major disappointment in this Julianne Moore-starring show here.Sorry to burst your bubble, Neppy, but this didactic, boring, long-ass play sucks.

The Veil (October 30 - November 18)Yay! The one local thing! This is a play from One Light Theatre's Shahin Sayadi, and we are stoked for him, and still miss the Persian Bazaar.

White Christmas (November 27 - January 13)I'm dreaming of someone awesome in the starring role. We haven't seen a sitcom star of the 80s in a Neptune play in a long time. How about John Ratzenberger?

Wingfield's Inferno (January 22 - February 17)People gasped when this one came up. I don't get the Wingfield thing. I just...don't.

Happy Days (February 15 to March 15)Think you know what's what? See a Beckett play and find out for real.

The Retreat from Moscow (March 4 - 30)

Léo (March 18 - April 6)

The Producers (April 15 - June 1)
