Dance moves straight ahead

Ritchcraft’s (AKA James Ritchie) newest single, sounds surprisingly happy for being about something so sad. “Park Bench (Let Go)” is the latest from the Haligonian producer and musician, and it’s about that most fertile of songwriting territory—love lost. “The entire song is about an ex-girlfriend,” Ritchie says. “I had a tough break up some years ago and although difficult at the time, my life began to change for the better from that point. This song is in a way an ode to her.”

Ritchcraft’s “unique upbeat groove inspired music” has been influenced by the likes of “Pharrell and Timbaland. Everything influences my music, every sound around us has a frequency and a pitch and the more I listened and trained my ears to be conscious at all times the more fine tuned and precise my music production became,” he says. “Currently i'm listening to Goldlink, Masego, JMSN, Anderson .Paak, Vince Staples, Tom Misch and Jacob Banks.”

Shot by Chandler Haliburton and edited by Ritchie, the video features Ritchcraft's irreverent Drake-esque dance moves and a lush nod to end of summer beauty.

Expect an EP from Ritchcraft in the fall, called Intrigue.
