When: Sept. 16-20, 12-10 p.m. 2014
A student-run pop up gallery that will host a site for exchange and dialogue between communities. "Many incidents have impacted local exhibition and community spaces in the past year, including the relocation of the Khyber Arts Society, the risk of closure of the Khyber building, the decision made by Eyelevel to become a spaceless gallery, and the closures of both the Seeds Gallery and Robert’s Street Social Centre. It is the appropriate time to introduce a new temporary gallery space to the city of Halifax, and this site in particular can deliver the expanse of space necessary for large-scale works. This group show deals with the concept of navigation—be it spatial or societal—and facilitates interactions that bring awareness to one’s whereabouts. It showcases interactive installations, projections, sculpture, optical art, text-based and intermedia works by NSCAD and King's artists alike. The artists featured are Karin Cope, Luis Figueroa, Ryan Josey, Maddie McNeely, Yalitsa Riden, Meghan Ross, Meg Shields, Mareena Thomson, and Peter van Gurp."
