Why the mayor's Statement of Reconciliation is important

A video reminder respect for First Nations is overdue.

Canada's Truth and Reconciliation Commission wrapped up its examination of the Indian Residential Schools system in June, but the TRC's final report really marked the beginning of the healing process. Witness that six months later, Halifax council just adopted a Statement of Reconciliation.

This statement would only attract negative attention if Halifax was Donald Trump. And of course Halifax isn't Donald Trump.

But in case Halifax is ever feeling the slightest bit Trumpy, we made this video with PLANifax to drive any symptoms out. It goes back to the beginning, when Europeans introduced their "civilized" ways to the North American locals, and it uses the metaphor of apartments and leases so even Donald J. himself can understand.
