No matter the platform you play it on, it’s hard to ignore the charm in World of Goo. Most levels require the player to gather as many goo balls as possible and bring them towards a hard to reach pipe, which will collect the remaining goo. The fewer goo balls used, the higher the score. The different types of goo react to gravity and other conditions in interesting ways: Some explode or stretch to long lengths making the physics of the game deep and enjoyable to play around with. The story is lacking, but that’s fine for this type of game as it’s more about solving puzzles than character development. World of Goo is also a joy to look at, with stripped down cartoonish visuals and a jazzy (sometimes epic) soundtrack. Easily the best game on the Wii’s download store and one of the greatest games for iOS, you really can’t pass up on this slimy puzzler.
