Re: “Worst double blind date of my life

While the guy was no winner, I don't think you've as much right to be mad as you think you do.
The guy sucked, agreed: he sounds like an idiot who couldn't even play along for the sake of a nice but nothing-special night. If it were me, the moment I saw y friend hitting it off and notice nothing was going to come of me and the other guy, I would've found my friend, excused myself and left. She asked you to come along for her, I doubt she truly expected you to hit it off with the guy, I think she did her part to try and make you feel comfortable so you'd go to help her (nice of her!), it isn't her fault he was trash. Her aim was to meet the other guy, you aim should've been to make her feel comfortable whether she did or didn't like that guy. You both did your part: you had no other responsibility, if she was okay, you should've left the moment you wanted to.

Re: “Patronizing the driver gets you no where

While some drivers do nothing more than drive, (gee, smile a little) some really do their work and more.
I've seen several tell people off, and in the past few years, more people kicked off. If people stopped treating the bus like it's theirs and more so like it's the driver's workspace (as it is) we'd see a lot better behaviour from everyone's part. There's so little respect on buses..

Re: “It's called bikini wax!

I'd like to add that if anyone thinks having a bush is 'European flair' you're either dated or dumb.
I've lived in Europe all my life, mostly in UK, and hair is just as poorly-received as it is here.
Don't think that a woman who's let herself go or can't be bothered to at least TRIM (no one's making you go bald) and get it out of sight is channelling her inner-Euro. Nude beaches are nude beaches, not 'let all your pubic hair fly'.

Re: “01/85

Any weekday #10 at SMU is always late too (though they're on the dot weekends, for some reason). I GET that traffic is bad, I GET that people are trying to get places, but when I see you hang at the previous bus stop an extra 30 seconds I can only think you don't care we're all going to be late.
Seriously, if a bus driver said 'please come on quick, have your tickets/passes ready, I need to catch up' then I would if it meant I'd get to work on time.
And the year-long wait at Barrington st. Why??
It's like the moment they notice they're running late, they're like 'eff it' and don't even try to make it.

Re: “Three for one bus seats

I really have to agree with OP.. It's one thing if you're in Westphal on a less-busy route, but the number of mothers who decide to go out downtown in the middle of the day, with a massive stroller for a feather-light baby (worse: a kid capable of walking: they'll only learn/get used to it if you make 'em!), all to bus three blocks is insane.. Of course she's allowed to go out, of course she's allowed on the bus. OP and no one else said she wasn't. What doesn't make sense is why its okay for that stroller to be on the bus when any other large item would be refused. You don't need a foot of plastic surrounding your kid in every direction, get a sling and wear it: ta daa.. safe, happy baby and FREE HANDS! woahh.
I've been on a few buses before where there were two strollers in the front. They blocked off the front entrance for anyone bigger than 80lbs, but to ask one to leave and (gasp) risk offending a mother is just a sin! It's a large load, to allow it is unreasonable.
There's nothing wrong with folding or 'umbrella' strollers, except your opinion of them. You probably all used them as kids and you turned out okay (hot tempered, but okay).
