This year’s theme “Seventy Years Since the End of WWII: The Anguish of Liberation and the Return to Life” will recognize Holocaust survivor Steven Markus.
Several panels from the Simon Wiesenthal Center exhibit The Courage to Remember including panels from The Canadian Museum of Immigration at Pier 21 will be on display.
The program will include speaker, Dr. Kirrily Ann Freeman, chair, Department of History, Saint Mary’s University and excerpts from Mister Markus’ book will be read by Olga Milosevich.
A musical interlude, a commemorative candle lighting ceremony and reception to follow.
