Eastern Front's 19th annual SuperNova Theatre Festival is currently seeking submissions of eclectic, innovated theatre from professional theatre companies for the upcoming festival (May 9-20 at the Neptune Studio Theatre). They ask that you submit a proposal to the festival curator, and “are particularly interested in original productions for mature audiences with running times of 60-90 minutes.” The deadline is November 1. Submissions will be accepted by mail only and must be received or postmarked by November 1. Applications found of interest will be contacted no later than January 2012. Centre for Art Tapes is requesting your audio art for Broadcasting For Reels Sounds (Extra)Ordinary.
In their words: "This is a call for sound-based work that employs recording and/or post-production technologies as a means of exploring the sounds of our everyday acoustic environment, and unlocking the potential for new and expanded listening experiences. Artists engaged in practices related to ambient sound design, soundscape recording, musique concrète, etc are invited to submit work as a CD or uncompressed data file (wav or aiff) via web transfer or disc. The maximum duration of the work may not exceed 8 minutes, and the submission must be accompanied by an artist statement (maximum 300 words) outlining your area of interest, and describing the conceptual framework and overall approach to the piece submitted."
Chosen entries will be aired on CKDU-FM in Halifax and distributed to community radio stations throughout Canada.
Deadline for submissions is October 14. Artist fees will be paid.

The summer of 2012 will mark the one hundredth anniversary of the construction of the Dingle Tower within Sir Sandford Fleming Park. To celebrate this occasion, Halifax Regional Municipality is seeking proposals from HRM artists for temporary public art that will animate the space and reflect the rich history of the Park and the surrounding area.
