I can't see why people want these games so much without fully knowing all the facts. The games committee is so secretive and refuses to open their books for a thorough investigation. Why? They first stated that it won't cost much, etc.. But now we find out it'll cost hundreds of millions. Hundreds of millions!!! That money could be better spent on fixing the roads, social programs, whatever. Once these games are over, what do you do with all the facilities? I don't believe Halifax, let alone Nova Scotia has the population density to support all this. Yes, it would be nice to have the games, but realistically, it's beyond our means. Let's just stick to the Canada Games for the time being. Sorry all you athletes out there that are putting up stickers everywhere, but think about others, not just yourselfs. Remember, who's going to pay for all this? I can guarantee that they'll increase assessments or anything else they can tax to pay for the initial cost. But think about the long term costs. It'll kill us.
